Massage Therapy

This type of massage treatment can encompass techniques from deep tissue, fascia release, Swedish massage and assisted stretching. Some goals include decreasing pain, stiffness and increase injury repair and range of motion.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage therapy, performed by a RMT, is a great choice for prenatal care. Use of a specially designed pregnancy support cushion allows mom-to-be to comfortably lay in a face down position. Side lying positioning with supportive, soft cushions can be used as well. Massage helps to relieve many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy.

Cupping Therapy

Performed by a RMT as part of a massage session. The therapist uses glass or silicon cups on the skin to create a negative suction pressure which helps to decrease fascia restrictions, increase blood flow and reduce pain.

**Understanding Osteopathy: A Natural Approach to Health**

Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on healthcare approach that recognizes the body's remarkable ability to heal itself. This therapeutic practice views the body as an integrated whole, where all systems work together to maintain health and balance.

**The Science Behind Osteopathy**

At its foundation, osteopathy focuses on how the body's structure influences its function. Through skilled palpation and assessment, osteopathic treatment helps restore optimal movement in the body's tissues, joints, and organs. This restoration of natural movement supports the nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems in maintaining health.

**Core Treatment Approaches**

Osteopathic care encompasses several key techniques:

Fascial Release Therapy
The fascial system is a continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ in the body. Through precise and gentle techniques, osteopathic treatment releases restrictions in this vital tissue network, improving overall mobility and reducing pain. Because fascia is interconnected throughout the body, treating fascial restrictions can have far-reaching benefits beyond the immediate area of treatment.

Muscle Energy Technique (MET)
A gentle method that uses precisely controlled muscle contractions to restore joint mobility and release muscle tension.

Cranial Osteopathy
An exceptionally subtle approach that works with the body's natural rhythms to influence the nervous system and promote deep relaxation.

Visceral Techniques
Gentle manipulations that enhance the natural movement of internal organs, supporting their optimal function and overall body mechanics.

**Benefits of Osteopathic Care**

Osteopathic treatment can effectively address various conditions by:
- Relieving muscle and joint discomfort
- Enhancing mobility and flexibility
- Improving posture and body awareness
- Supporting stress reduction
- Promoting natural healing processes
- Contributing to overall well-being
- Releasing fascial restrictions that may cause pain or limited movement
- Improving tissue health and circulation

This holistic approach to healthcare is suitable for people of all ages and activity levels, offering a natural path to improved health and vitality.

His academic journey includes a Bachelor of Applied Health Science in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College, advanced studies in Massage Therapy from Fleming College, and specialized training in Manual Osteopathy at the National Academy of Osteopathy. As a dedicated yoga teacher since 2011, Anderson has co-facilitated Teacher Training programs across Canada, sharing his expertise in movement and mindful practice.

Drawing from his experience treating competitive athletes and working in various therapeutic settings, including the Fairmont spa in Jasper, Anderson employs gentle, non-invasive techniques focusing on myofascial release and postural correction. His practice integrates mindfulness principles developed through years of Vipassana meditation practice, creating a unique therapeutic approach that nurtures both body and mind.
